about us

The Canadian Somali Friendship Network (CSFN) aims to develop both a user-friendly website and a

comprehensive organizational platform.

ABOUT US

The Canadian Somali Friendship Network (CSFN) is a community-driven initiative committed to fostering strong, inclusive connections between Somali-Canadians and the wider Canadian society. We believe that meaningful relationships, cultural understanding, and mutual support are vital for creating thriving, resilient communities.

Established in response to the evolving needs of Somali newcomers, families, youth, and women, CSFN acts as a bridge—linking individuals to opportunities, services, and one another. As Canada increasingly embraces diverse communities, we strive to ensure that Somali-Canadians receive the support, empowerment, and full inclusion they deserve across all facets of social, economic, and civic life.

At CSFN, we celebrate the strengths, talents, and cultural richness inherent within our community. Our efforts are centered around amplifying these strengths while addressing barriers such as social isolation, language obstacles, and limited access to resources. Through community programs, partnerships, and advocacy, we cultivate safe and welcoming spaces for individuals to learn, grow, and contribute.

Our approach is grounded in collaboration, respect, and community leadership. We actively engage with community members to design programs that address real needs—be it digital literacy training, youth mentorship, women’s empowerment initiatives, or cultural exchange activities.

CSFN is more than just an organization—it is a network of friendships, support systems, and shared aspirations. Together, we are building a future where Somali-Canadians feel connected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
